Our Vision and Values

  • Know Christ’s love (deeper in relationship with the Lord)
  • Grow in Christ’s love (deeper in relationship with other believers)
  • Go out with Christ’s love (deeper in relationship with people outside the church)

THE VALUES WE HOLD TO REACH OUR VISION

We are a church that is Christian/Lutheran (Col 3:17)

We are a church that first and foremost serves/honors Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and is guided by God’s Spirit. We desire that every ministry/activity/program glorifies Jesus Christ and his purposes for the church. We are grateful for our Lutheran heritage and draw from it substantially. We also recognize valuable insights about ministry from other Christian congregations and denominations.

We are a church that Builds Growing Disciples of Jesus (Matthew 28:19 & John 15:1-10)

We believe that all people need to have a personal faith relationship with Jesus Christ to be filled with his saving hope. We believe that Jesus is the only way to salvation and he changes the lives of those who follow Him. We hope to help every member take an intentional step of spiritual growth each year as growing disciples. As we abide in him daily, we desire to be filled with God’s love. Our hope and desire is that as we are blessed we can bless others around us.

We are a church that is committed to Outreach (Luke 19:10)

We have two equally important goals: to help people come to faith in Jesus Christ and to help people of faith grow in Christ. Our focus is to go out into the community around us serving their needs while we share God’s love. When someone comes to us with a need we will welcome them and do our best to minister to them. We have a passion for those who are lost and have a number of programs to reach people in need outside the walls of the church.

We are a church that Relies on God’s Word (II Tim 3:16-17)

We are a church that believes that the Good News of Salvation in Jesus Christ is revealed in His Word. The Bible is God’s divine and inspired truth for us. The scriptures are a gift to guide and encourage us in faith. We are committed to faithfully preach and teach His Word to young and old, new and mature in faith. We believe in scripture. The Lord teaches that marriage is a gift to be shared between one man and one woman.

We are a church that values Heart-felt Worship (John 4:25)

We believe that worship is essential for spiritual life and growth. Worship is fullest when we come with an attitude to give (praise and thanks) and to receive (grace and insights). Our worship services are a blend of traditional and contemporary expressions.

We are a church that values Supportive Fellowship (Acts 2:44-47)

We are a church that values the warmth that comes from personal relationships where people freely share God’s love. It is important that every person have a place to belong and to meet together for mutual support, study and prayer. We meet regularly for special events.

We are a church that believes in Every Member Ministry (Eph 4:11-13)

We believe that every Christian is gifted by God with spiritual gifts and natural talents to serve in ministry inside and outside the church. It is the role of the pastor and staff to equip each member for ministry. We are committed to staffing for growth to increase the number of lay people in ministry leadership. We also helps every member discover and use their gifts.

We are a church that is committed to Faithful Giving (II Cor 9:6-10)

We believe that God is faithful and generous and will provide for us. As a congregation practice, we believe in giving a tithe (10%) of our offerings to Christian work in the community for the glory of God. We encourage every member to trust God and joyfully give a proportion of income (up to a tithe), as able, for the work and vision of the congregation.

We are a church that relies upon the Holy Spirit’s Guidance ( John 16:12-13)

We are committed to seeking and following God’s vision for the future of our congregation. We are pro-active in planning, visioning and prayer, seeking the direction of the Holy Spirit in all we do. The Church Council is responsible for overseeing the vision process. We ask every member to pray that the Lord will guide this church in all we do and say.
