We are looking forward to this upcoming year as being “the year of the Bible” at Hope! As a church, we have always been Bible-based and Jesus-centered. In 2025, I want to encourage you to read through the Bible together as a congregation. Whether you have read through the Bible before, or this is your first time, you will be blessed! There will be daily Bible readings, beginning January 1.
Does this seem daunting? Don’t worry, it only takes about 15 minutes a day, and I look forward to hearing about how deeply you are blessed as you make this commitment. There is a very helpful chronological Bible that I encourage you to use, that will be a great resource for you and your family. I will also be preaching each Sunday on one of the readings of the week.
I encourage all our current community groups to consider using the chronological Bible for their group in 2025. There are notes and questions in the Bible that you can use for discussion and application. As we embark on this spiritual journey, my prayer is that reading through the Bible does not become just another box to check off of your “to do” list. Reading God’s Word is simply one way in which we draw closer to God.
Here is a prayer for 2025 for Community of Hope: “Father in Heaven, as we read your Word, allow us to hear your voice speaking directly to us. Through your Holy Spirit, provide us with the wisdom to understand the unique message that you have in store for each and every one of us. May your Word fill our hearts with joy and be the light that guides our lives. Speak Lord; your servants are listening. Amen.”
