Worship F.A.Q.

What kind of music will you hear?
Because we value our heritage, some of the music we sing are the great hymns of the past led by our keyboardist. As we also value the Holy Spirit working today, some of the music we sing are newer; praise songs that you might hear on 104.1 The Fish FM.  The praise music is led by our acoustic band.

What is the difference between the 8:45 and 11:00 service?
Both our worship services are a blend of hymns and praise songs. The 8:45 service tends to have more hymns and the 11am more praise music. The 11am service is geared more for children. Children’s church is available after the children’s message.

How long is the worship service and what happens?
Each worship service lasts about a hour. We begin by sharing important events and announcements for the life of the church, then have a time for people to greet others around them. After we sing several songs the children are invited forward for a short kids message. Pastor Doug then shares a message for today’s living from the Scriptures (about 25 minutes long). We have offering and communion, twice a month, and we end with a time of prayer and a closing song.

What about communion?
We celebrate communion twice a month at both services. Anyone who desires, receive this special gift of mercy from the Lord with a humble heart is invited to come forward and share in Christ’s bread and cup.

Do you take an offering?
The weekly offering we take is the opportunity for members and regular attenders to give. When you come, don’t feel any obligation to give anything, your attending is gift enough.

What do kids do in worship?
We have a great nursery staffed by professional care givers available all morning long for ages infant though 5yo. We have a secure check-in and check-out procedure for your child’s safety.

The 11am worship service is designed with children in mind. We begin the service with several songs that kids can join in and sing. After about 20 minutes we have a children’s message where kids are invited forward for a few minutes to hear a special message designed for them. Then they are dismissed to head out to children’s church, a time where they can sing more or watch a Christian kids DVD.

Do you have a choir?
We have a choir that alternates singing at both worship services. We love to have you come and join us. You don’t need to be able to read music to be a part of the choir, just enjoy singing. The choir rehearses every Wednesday at 7pm in the sanctuary.
