Worship FAQ

What is the difference between the 8:45 am and 11:00 am service?

Both our worship services are a blend of hymns and praise songs. The 8:45am service tends to have more hymns and the 11:00 am more contemporary praise music. The 11:00 am service is geared more for children. Kidz Church and Kidz Choir (seasonal) are available after the children’s message early in the 11:00 am service.

What happens in the Summer?

During the summer (from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend) we have an early service from 8:00 – 8:30 am.  This will be a simpler service with a message and prayer.  Come from 9:00 am – 9:45 am to enjoy breakfast provided by our Community Groups. Providing breakfast is a fun service to each other and members of our community in attendance.  We have a second worship service from 10:00 – 11:00 am with music, message, prayer and more.

How long is the worship service and what happens?

Each worship service lasts about an hour. We begin by having a time for people to greet others around them. After we sing several songs the children are invited forward for a short children’s message. Pastor then shares a message for today’s living from the Scriptures (about 25 minutes long) that applies God’s Word to our everyday lives. We have a time for people to give gifts to support our ministries before ending with a time of prayer and a closing song.

What about communion?

We celebrate communion on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at both services. Anyone with a humble and thankful heart for the Lord is invited to come forward and receive communion.

Do you take an offering?

The Sunday offering is an opportunity for members and regular attenders to give. When you visit don’t feel any obligation to give anything; your attendance is gift enough.

What do kids do in worship?

We have a great nursery staffed by professional care givers available all morning long for ages infant though 5 years old. We have a secure check-in and check-out procedure for your child’s safety.

We begin worship services with several songs that kids can join in and sing. After about 20 minutes we have a children’s message, a time for kids to come forward for a few minutes to hear a special message designed for them. Then they are invited to head out to nursery or Kids Church, a time where they can sing and participate in Bible lessons until the service is over. Kids Church is designed for kids PreK through 5th grade.

Do you have a choir?

We have a choir that often sings at either worship service during the year. The choir is made up of adults of a wide range of ages, abilities and talents. A few of the things we all have in common is a love of music and great enjoyment singing praises for the Lord.
